A Community Banking Legacy

The Drake family arrived in Central Illinois in 1852 and set down roots that still run deep. Their descendants started in banking in 1920 and survived economic ups and downs for generations. The third generation of Drake family bankers built Heartland Bank into what it is today, and our current leadership continues the family tradition of service and relationship-building they established early in the twentieth century.

You can learn a lot about a place when you know what’s important to the people working there. We say, “Relationships give meaning to our work.” It’s a statement of fact, as well as a reminder of how we’re connected to the communities we serve. We know that banking is personal, so we take the time to get to know our customers. We start the conversation by understanding what’s needed.

For example, we know that service is important, and most people want banking to be effortless. That means you’ll deal with the local people you know from your favorite branch; the same people you see getting lunch at the sandwich shop or cheering on the local high school team on Friday night. Our approach to banking is based on the communities we serve.

We’re proud of our strength and capabilities, the services we offer and the team of people who stand ready to serve their communities. Put our strength to work for you, and you’ll understand why we feel that way.
