FAQs

Fraud Center is the free 24/7 fraud detection and monitoring service provided to our debit card and ATM customers.

Fraud experts detect suspicious activity by using sophisticated monitoring systems to look for unusual transactions. If anything is detected, you’ll be contacted by email, text or phone. Emails and texts can come at any time, 24/7. Phone calls happen between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

If fraud is confirmed, your card will be disabled immediately. If we can’t reach you, your card will be assigned a special “watch” status until we know all is well.

Our fraud specialist may ask you to verify your identity, and to verify suspicious transactions. You will never be asked for your account number.

We will leave you a voicemail that includes a call back phone number as well as the incident number you’ll need to reference. During regular business hours, you can also contact your local Heartland Bank branch for help confirming or clearing up suspicious activity.

* The Customer Care Center is staffed Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Branch and Customer Care hours vary by holiday.
